Each proposed Solada home is being designed to feel small, calm and genuinely homely, ready for care teams who can know each child well once the home is registered.
What makes a Solada home
We want Solada to be known for safe, beautiful and well-run homes, high-quality care, reliable communication and positive outcomes for children. These are the principles guiding the development of each proposed home.
Up to three placementsOur first home is designed for up to three placements, allowing care to remain personal and individualised.
Small placement numbers
Our planned small placement numbers are intended to create calmer homes, closer relationships and more time to notice what each child needs. Once registered, placements will be matched carefully rather than simply filling beds.
Homely environments
Our background in property means we are investing in high-quality proposed homes designed to be comfortable, well maintained and personal, with privacy and a settled, non-institutional feel.
Individualised care
Once a home is registered and operational, each child will have an individual care plan that is delivered and regularly reviewed. Children will be involved in decisions about day-to-day life and care wherever appropriate, with privacy, identity, personal choices and individual needs respected alongside clear boundaries and support.
Education and development
Our planned care model will support children to take part positively in education and make measurable progress in learning, relationships, wellbeing and confidence, with progress included in regular care-plan reviews.
Building independence
Our planned model will build independence into everyday life through routines, decision-making, cooking, budgeting, self-care, travel skills and other age-appropriate responsibilities tailored to each child.
Community participation
Our homes are intended to be responsible members of their communities. We will use local services and suppliers where appropriate, create local employment and support children to take part in activities and community life.
Our first homes
Our first two proposed children's homes have progressed through the development and planning stages. Each will open only once it has obtained the appropriate Ofsted registration. Home profiles will be published here as that happens.

Quality and safeguarding
If registered, each home will operate in accordance with Ofsted requirements and the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, alongside robust safeguarding, safer recruitment, health and safety, data protection and internal quality-assurance procedures.
Planned safeguarding reviews, clear procedures and experienced professionals around each registered home.
Safer recruitment, thorough induction, ongoing training and regular supervision are built into our staffing plans.
Our planned model includes key-work sessions, house meetings, independent advocacy and clear complaints processes.
Our planned quality framework includes audits, incident analysis, care-plan reviews and regular review of outcomes.

You are welcome to talk to us early about future needs. No Solada home is currently open or accepting placements; any placement discussion is subject to the relevant home obtaining Ofsted registration.
