Who we plan to support
Children and young people who need a stable home.
Our planned services are being designed for children and young people who require a safe, stable and supportive residential placement.
Once a home is registered, each referral will be assessed individually to ensure it can safely and appropriately meet the child's needs. Our planned approach is built around clear communication, careful matching, robust safeguarding and long-term outcomes rather than simply filling beds.

Our planned referral approach
How a future referral will move forward.
This process will apply once a home is registered and accepting referrals. At every stage, we will communicate clearly about suitability and availability.

Referral assessment
We will review the referral and the information shared about the child, then discuss the placement being sought with the referring professional.

Risk assessment
The child's needs and risks will be considered alongside the safety and wellbeing of any other children living in the home at that time.

Placement matching
We will consider compatibility with the home's resident mix and whether the placement sits within the registered home's Statement of Purpose.

Transition planning
Where a future placement is suitable, we will work with the placing local authority and relevant professionals to plan a safe, well-paced transition.

Care planning
An individual care plan will be developed and regularly reviewed, with progress, safeguarding, education, health, relationships and independence all considered.

Robust safeguarding procedures, regular safeguarding reviews and experienced professionals around every home.
Communication
Transparent, reliable communication with social workers, local authorities and families.
Reviews
Care plans and outcomes reviewed regularly, with professional feedback actively sought and used.
Outcomes
Measurable progress in education, relationships, wellbeing, confidence and independence.
Statement of Purpose
Every future referral will be considered against the home's Statement of Purpose.
Each registered children's home will set out who it is able to care for and how in its Statement of Purpose. A placement will only be offered where it fits that Statement of Purpose and the home can safely meet the child's needs alongside any other children living there.
